SIMV, the national organization representing the Veterinary medicine Industry and reagents in France is officially becoming member of EMVD.
To show that profession organizations can adhere, and to confirm the role of the SIMV in our association, SIMV wishes to adhere to the EMVD as a full member. The adhesion of SIMV is unanimously accepted. Jean-Louis Hunault is the representing voice of the association, having BVT, IDEXX France, Applied Biosystems France and SYNBIOTICS as members of the diagnostics section.

EMVD and OIE decided to promote the concept of harmonization of diagnostics products' certification, on the basis of OIE standards.
François Diaz (OIE) welcomed the support of EMVD in this policy.
First step: to contact local authorities in EU in order to avoid duplication between local systems and OIE procedure
Further, the EMVD will request DG enterprise to have the veterinary diagnostics enter in the scope of the future audit of EU legislation concerning animal health products (medicines and diagnostics).

EMVD Board meeting - November, 24th 2008

The Board votes in favor of the membership of 2 new companies : Agrolabo and Applied Biosystems. 10 companies are now members of our association.

The European Manufacturers of Veterinary Diagnostics - EMVD (formerly Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Manufacturers/Producers (A.E.F.R.V.)) held their 4^th General Assembly in Paris, OIE Offices on 28^th April 2008.

Mrs. Johanna KOOLEN (Synbiotics-Europe) was confirmed as Chair of EMVD for a new term of office.
The Executive Committee is composed as follows :

in order to discuss the future of diagnostics issues in Europe.
